Curatorial & Collaborative Projects

IMG_0360_edited_edited.jpg

The Eritrean Art Collective is a network of creatives focused on cultural exchanges between Eritreans in Africa and throughout the diaspora. It nurtures a supportive network where painters, printmakers, and photographers can be in community, share their practice and research, and gain international visibility. This initiative was founded by Tehan Ketema to encourage collaborative exchange and resource-sharing among Eritrean artists worldwide.

Getting to the Root is the curatorial endeavor of Amber C. Coleman, Ph.D., Jazmine Beatty, Tehan Ketema, and Olivia Richardson about Black hair culture in the United States. It is a traveling exhibition that shares local artist voices and those around the country.

da hoodzeum

Da Hoodzeum is a radical, Black-centered, community-powered pop-up museum archiving the social, political, and cultural artifacts of the people—by the people. It is one of Wisconsin's largest collections of Black radical historical archives.  Spanning from the 1800s to today, it’s where history, art, memory, and resistance collide and roots itself in centering youth voices, disabled brilliance, queer creativity, and the beauty of the everyday.

This collection founded by collector Mike Davis, PhD candidate with archival preservation support and curatorial partnership with Tehan Ketema. More information coming soon.
